Whether you’re a fan of classic hoagies or hearty pasta, you’ll discover why this spot is a must-visit for both locals and travelers alike.

As you step inside, you’re greeted by a warm, inviting atmosphere. The wooden décor lends a rustic charm that makes you feel right at home, while the bar area buzzes with excitement—creating the perfect backdrop for a casual dinner with friends or a family outing. On busy nights, such as during the town’s block party events, you might find the place filled with energetic patrons enjoying good food and even better company.

As for the menu, it’s a delightful journey through American cuisine that emphasizes fresh ingredients and classic flavors. The star of the menu is undoubtedly the cheesesteaks. Customer reviews rave about the authenticity of the flavors, claiming, “Cheesesteak is one of the best. Extra white American cheese add some salt and you’re good to go,” making it clear that the meat is juicy, the bread soft, and every bite is a flavor explosion. You might want to try the Original Cheesesteak, featuring an abundance of perfectly seasoned meat, or venture into the Chicken Cheesesteak, a lighter yet equally delicious option. Don’t miss the Hot Pastrami on Rye, praised for its robust flavor that pairs beautifully with a cold Yuengling beer.

But the culinary adventure doesn't end with sandwiches—dine on comforting pastas, such as the lovingly prepared Mary's Meatballs & Pasta, which serves tender meatballs nestled over a bed of linguine and topped with marinara sauce. For seafood lovers, the Mussels over Pasta offers a taste of the ocean, with fresh mussels sautéed in rich garlic butter.

Complement your meal with sides like sweet potato fries or crispy onion rings, and as the reviews testify, the portions are generous, ensuring no one leaves hungry. As one guest remarked, “The kitchen does take pride in those hoagies,” proving that the staff is dedicated to delivering quality meals crafted with care.

With polite, attentive service and a menu that keeps patrons coming back for more, Philadelphia Tavern is more than just a restaurant; it’s a gathering place for wonderful food and memorable experiences. The next time you find yourself in Manassas, let this delightful eatery become your go-to destination for a truly satisfying meal. The Philadelphia Tavern was busy as it was one of the Friday nights where Manassas closes off the streets for a block party. Ordered the Hot Pastrami on Rye with fries, real good flavor and the fries were seasoned. Had a Bourbon and coke to drink. Yuengling beer and the Philly cheese steaks are also added.

We decided to try this place out for some cheesesteaks. They didn’t disappoint in my opinion even though I’m not from Philadelphia so I wouldn’t know how genuine they were. I tried the original, my wife the chicken cheesesteak and my son the 4 alarm cheesesteak although he said isn’t wasn’t hot at all. The interior of the place is nice. Love the bar it is absolutely beautiful. The service was okay. The servers weren’t the quickest and we had to ask to get a drink refill bit over all the place I worth a visit if you haven’t been before.

Cheesesteak is one of the best. Extra white American cheese add some salt and your good to go. My next trip I will order extra meat. You want something that wont leave your chest with that tight feeling then this is the cheesesteak place. Don't let the wood décor deter you.

Where do I start? Yes can't go wrong with classic steak and cheese. The kitchen does take pride in those hoagies so you do wait. Mature staff. No longer have to drive to Baltimore or Philadelphia. You can can mix the cheeses. The portions are legit for the market. All beers on tap are clean no metal taste cleanliness is good on that.seatinh is limited. The kitchen has alot pride in the back. Yes I will bring friends here.

08/2025 Visiting from Washington State, my brothers took us here for one of our last dinners. Large portions on the cheese steaks and over all flavor was really great. Our server was one of their regular servers and gave us great attention for being outside. Id say the biggest comment I have is that the meat portions and plating were inconsistent. You can see in my picture it looks like the meat was just slapped on the bun and not even cared about for some of the orders. Like I said, over all flavor was great but consistency needs some attention.

A warning: if it is football season, it will be packed and loud in the evenings. However, I went on Saturday for lunch with a friend and it was nice and quiet in there. I had heard that this place had excellent Philly-style sandwiches ("best in the area"), and I have to admit, this place lives up to the hype. Old darkwood bar gives the place a nice ambiance. I got the roasted pork, spinach, and provolone sandwich, which was juicy and well-sauced. The meat was very well marinated and was slightly crispy, and every bite was flavorful and comforting. My friend had a similar experience with her cheesesteak. The fries were super crispy and were excellent on their own, even without ketchup. Will definitely come back here (on a non-football night)

There are no thrills but I don't think that is the great make of local bar at least one that is good. The staff were awesome and I am pretty pissed with myself for not writting this review sooner so that I could recall their names. Nevertheless the mozzarella sticks were the only thing I recommend not ordering but everything else was yummy. I mean how do you go wrong with fried cheese. Big shout out to the bartender though. He was AMAZING! So patient with me and really took his time to make drinks that he thought I would really enjoy and were multi dimensional. Honestly such a nice experience and we will return soon just to grab a quick bite and see the team.
